Viticulture Wine Crate

Not so much a game, more a storage solution, Stonemaier Games' Wine Crate is a big box designed to store all the cards, boards and components from your copy of Viticulture and its various expansions, including Tuscany. You'll need an edition of the original Viticulture game to make use of it.

As the name suggests, the Wine Crate is styled so that it would look at home in a wine cellar, tho' for most of us it will sit more comfortably in an Ikea Kallax unit. Tho' it doesn't come with the core game, it's not just an empty box! In addition to the various plastic storage boxes inside for Viticulture cards and components, the Wine Crate incorporates a complete copy of the Viticulture World expansion, which offers the option of playing Viticulture as a fully cooperative or solitaire game.

If you're a fan of the modern classic game Viticulture and have collected the various expansions that have appeared over the years since the game first appeared in 2013, the Wine Crate is a good-looking way of bringing the disparate content together. It's not a huge space saver, however. It's about the same size as the original game and Tuscany expansion boxes combined, so in terms of shelf space it only offers a saving in relation to those two boxes plus the Viticulture World expansion if bought separately. Other expansions came in the form of card packs or, in the case of the Moor Visitors expansion, in a compact box, so these could anyway be accommodated alongside the components in the core game and/or Tuscany boxes. You probably then don't need the Wine Crate, but that won't stop you from wanting it...
