Streets, Sewers & Cemeteries

Writer: Board's Eye ViewBoard's Eye View

We're great fans of the Loke Battle Mats. They've become an essential feature of our face-to-face D&D games, and we're increasingly pressing them into service in other games too. We've previously made most use of Loke's Wilderness maps but this new Giant Book of Battle Mats looks set to take its place as our 'go to' source of play mats.

It's not that our adventurers particularly like delving into the sewers but we do seem to find ourselves surprisingly often in the foul underbelly of the cities. Likewise, we don't deliberately frequent cemeteries but they, and their accompanying mausoleums, do seem to populate our adventures with some frequency. Those maps will all be put to good use. What's especially appealing about the Streets, Sewers & Cemeteries book are all the maps showing street layouts. Playing with these is sure to bring your town and city encounters to life. And it's a big plus that this Giant Book of Battle Mats has versions of each streetmap showing all the buildings as seen from above the rooftops as well as the same streetmap with all the buildings 'open' (ie: with the roofs removed).

As with other Loke battle mat books, Streets, Sewers & Cemeteries is spiral bound so that each double-page spread lays flat. And as it's a Giant Book of Battle Mats, the pages are all A3 size, so twice the size of a standard letter page. That means the double-page spreads give you an A2 maps. The pages all have a 'wipe clean' surface, so you can use them with wet or dry markers.
