Horrible Therapist

Playable in around 15-20 minutes, Matthew Inman's Horrible Therapist is a short but not necessarily sweet pitching game where the 3-8 players are creating three-frame comic strips.

The game comprises three decks of cards: Question, Answer and Treatment cards. Each round, one player takes on the role of Therapist, drawing a Question card and choosing one of three Answer cards to form the first two frames of a comic strip. Other players will have hands of five Treatment cards and they choose one to submit face-down to the Therapist. The Therapist shouldn't know who submitted which Treatment. They select the 'best' to complete the comic strip, and the player who submitted that Treatment scores a point. The game is won by the first player to score three points.

It's a simple straightforward party game; perhaps less raucous than similar games like Sell Outs (Bad Kerning) and How Am I Weird (How Am I Weird Games) because players are submitting rather than directly pitching their Treatments. You can expect the Therapist to choose as the 'best' Treatment the card that's the funniest conclusion to the strip which, more often than not, is likely to be the grossest or most offensive... Be warned that a LOT of the cards in this game are gross or offensive or both, so like most pitching games Horrible Therapists is definitely NSFW (Not Safe For Work). That said, this game from Exploding Kittens can be a fun filler among broad-minded friends. Remember tho' it's the Therapist that's choosing, so this is a game that reveals more about the Therapist than the 'patients'...
