We previously featured WizKids' What If...? Marvel Heroclix game on Board's Eye View but of course there's a lot more to Heroclix than the handful of standalone Heroclix board games...
For those unfamilar with Heroclix, it's a system where the miniatures have a dial built into the base that shows the figure's stats. The idea is that when a character takes a hit, you rotate the dial and it shows that character's suitably amended stats; eventually, after a number of clicks, it'll show that the character is knocked out. You typically play Heroclix by building your own team of characters and pitting the teams against each other.
WizKids have been releasing Heroclix sets for more than 20 years. Over that time they've covered a lot of different IPs but the vast majority of releases have been from the Marvel and DC comics universes. In all, they've sold a staggering 750 million figures! And counting - because the Marvel Black Panther figures are just arriving now on retail shelves. Each individual 'Booster Pack contains five pre-painted miniatures, with a 'Brick' made up of 10 packs. The Black Panther set comprises 64 figures in all and tho' you don't know exactly which five figures you'll get in each pack until you open it, we've been pleasantly surprised to find how few duplicates we ended up with in opening up this Black Panther Brick: just six duplicates over the 10 packs.
As has become the norm with the Heroclix sustem, each figure comes with a card that sets out that character's abilities and which shows in chart form all the stats on the dial. And as you can see from our Board's Eye View 360, the Black Panther set includes some great sculpts, so we can barely wait to assemble and field a Wakanda team.
The Heroclix Black Panther packs are due to hit retail shelves on 30 October.
